Learning/Sacrament
Preparation
Infant
Baptism
Baptism at Holy Spirit is celebrated at any of our Sunday
masses. Those families planning an initial infant baptism
at Holy Spirit are welcome to join Fr. Don at one of our
Pre-Jordan sessions which are held on the 2nd Thursday of
every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Narthex. If you are unable
to make it to one of these sessions, please contact Fr.
Don for an appointment.
First Eucharist\First Reconciliation
In preparing your child for the sacraments of Reconciliation
and Eucharist you share your faith with your child. It helps
create or enhance the pattern of faith sharing experienced
at home. Parents tell us that this one-on-one time with
their child is very meaningful. Preparation for First Reconciliation
and First Eucharist is done through home study, parent/child
learning stations, and retreat experiences. Registered parishioners
of children in grade 2 receive a letter in late August,
which invites parents to one orientation meeting in September.
(Click
here for a Sacramental Registration Form). Holy Spirit
supports parents by providing a parent book and a learning
workbook for your child to complete with your guidance.
Learning stations give parents and children a chance to
share and review what they have learned in the book. Children
will participate in learning stations and a parent-planned
retreat prior to both First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
(Click
here for current First Eucharist/First Reconciliation Schedule.)
Confirmation
Confirmation preparation begins in January and ends with the celebration of confirmation in late October. Please contact Fr. Don with questions about Confirmation preparation for 2008.
Marriage
Marriage celebrations can be scheduled with the
Fr. Don.
A group of married couples helps with the Wedding Ministry,
interacting one-on-one with the engaged couples to assist
them in planning a wedding and to foster good marriages
and parish participation.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
The RCIA provides a forum for shared spiritual
growth, and a means to explore the Catholic Christian tradition
through the scripture, sacraments, church teaching, and
social outreach, all in the midst of the Catholic faith
community.
How do I learn more? Contact Mary
Margaret at 280-0638 if you have questions about the
process.
