Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist is done through home study, parent/child learning stations, and retreat experiences. Parents take the primary role as catechist in preparing their children to receive these sacraments. The parish supports parents in their role as catechist by providing them with the necessary materials (a parent book and a learning book for the child) as well as learning stations and a parent-planned retreat prior to the celebration of each of these sacraments.
Holy Spirit families register for First Sacraments in the spring before the student enters Grade 2. Information is sent out via email to parents of students currently in Grade 1.
Registration for all Holy Spirit faith formation and sacramental preparation is done in the spring to ensure we will have materials by August.
The online registration deadline was July 28.
If you would like to register your child for First Sacraments preparation, please contact Mary Nowakowski at [email protected]
In order to have a firm faith foundation, all students entering Grade 2 in the fall of 2024, and who will be preparing for First Sacraments, are expected to participate in faith formation in one of the following ways:
Note: All are welcome to participate regardless of ability to pay. If finances are a concern, you may choose to waive the fee on the online registration form.
