The Catechism of the Catholic Church calls the Eucharist "the sum and summary of our faith" (par. 1327). This is because Jesus Christ is really and fully present in the Eucharist, making it the greatest of the sacraments.
In 2022, the Church in the United States launched a three-year initiative called the National Eucharistic Revival to "inspire a movement of Catholics across the United States who are healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist--and who are then sent out on mission 'for the life of the world.'"
As a way of participating in this movement, Holy Spirit will be offering a study program called Presence: The Mystery of the Eucharist. The program was designed by the Augustine Institute, a Catholic apostolate and graduate school. Participants will meet to pray, watch videos about the Eucharist, and discuss in small groups. The program will culminate in a teaching Mass with Fr. Tom.
Meetings will be held on Mondays from 6:30-8:00 PM at Holy Spirit, starting on June 3, 2024, and running through August 5, 2024. If you would like to register, please fill out a form online (https://forms.office.com/r/y0MAc11e66), email Michael Stevens at [email protected], or call the parish office at (507) 280-0638. If you would like to register your child, spouse, or another person, please submit a separate registration form for each person. The registration fee is $10, payable at the parish office by cash or check. (Checks can be made out to Holy Spirit; please put "Presence study program" on the memo line.) Registrants will receive a study guide.
